Established in 2008 by Rupert Bottomley, a former wooden boat builder and founder of the Woodstocks International Group, Bambrella has its roots in craftsmanship and innovation. The Woodstocks Group, founded in 1996, initially specialized in producing high-quality garden furniture and parasols in Indonesia, laying the foundation for the Bambrella brand.

A Word from Rupert….
In 2010, we expanded our manufacturing operation into China to take advantage of the plentiful supply of Moso bamboo. Moso bamboo is the only bamboo which can be processed and treated for outdoor use. It is also available with FSC certification, which further illustrates how much the planet means to us at Bambrella. Bambrella has proved to be the highest quality laminated bamboo designer and manufacturer on the market, globally. One reason for its durability is its ability to resist mould and mildew occurring, when bamboo is exposed to the elements. The effective resistance has taken years to achieve, through consistent testing. We’ve also patented a joint system, which enables us to hot press and glue long lengths of laminations.
At Bambrella, we strive to improve and enhance our product range and, as the lead designer, I’m always working on a new range of parasols, including a new range of outdoor furniture and using the highest quality modern materials available and combining them with bamboo.
Our customers can be assured that materials used in the production of our umbrellas are the best as every umbrella we make is are all marine grade. They can withstand the many differing climates and conditions around the world.
